Most people experience times when they feel low, worried or sense aspects of their life are beyond their control. Life demands your attention, while the inner tides of your mind ebb and flow – sometimes leaving behind feelings such as anxiety, frustration, sadness or confusion.
How can counselling help?
In today’s busy world it can be easy to forget you are a unique person, with your own talents, aspirations and needs. Counselling provides time and space in a supportive confidential setting, to explore your thoughts and feelings around any difficulty or distress you may be experiencing, helping you find ways to manage your situation and respond to life in more positive ways.
My name is Pauline Owen and as a qualified counsellor I help people affected by life events and change to understand their reactions, reducing anxiety and distress and increasing personal independence. I offer genuine non-judgemental support, as we talk in confidence about your difficulties and the things that matter most to you, enabling you to make sense of your situation and discover your own way forward. This may include:
- Caring for family members or friends
- Relationship difficulties
- Grief and loss
- Low self esteem/confidence
- Career and workplace difficulties
- Anger management
- Abuse and trauma
- Separation and divorce
- Pet bereavement
I’m based in West Sussex and offer short and longer term counselling to individuals aged 18 and over. To find out more about me and how I work, please take a look around my website.
Note: During the Covid19 pandemic all counselling sessions are held via telephone call or online using Zoom video conferencing. Please take a look at my guide to Telephone and Online Counselling or contact me with any questions you may have.
